FRANCESCO MAGGIO

Francesco Maggio was born in Lecce (Italy). He studied composition with Ivan Fedele and Giorgio Nottoli. He followed several masterclasses respectively with Sylvano Bussotti, Azio Corghi, Luis De Pablo, Toshio Hosokawa, Marco Stroppa. His works have been selected for the performance by Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Dissonart Ensemble, Orchestra Sinfonica Ico“T.Schipa” di Lecce, Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana, Roma Sinfonietta, Grupo de Musica Contemporanea de Lisboa, Quartetto Prometeo, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, Contempoartensemble, Ensemble musikFabrik, Vocalconsort Berlin, Minguet Quartett, Prague Modern, Andreas Fischer (Neue Vocalsolisten), Alessandro Carbonare, Andrea Pestalozza, ecc...
 
His compositions have been executed in important festivals and concert halls (Festival Nuovi Spazi Musicali, Festival Spazio Musica, Guarnerius Concert Hall of Belgrado, Carnegie Hall of New York, Spazio Oberdan, Teatro Dal Verme of Milano; Teatro Donizetti of Bergamo, Roma: Auditorium “Ennio Morricone”, “Santa Cecilia”; Maracaibo (Venezuela): Teatro de Bellas Artes; Turku (Finlandia): Wa¨ino¨ Aaltonen Museum of Art; Helsinki: National Museum of Finland, Korvath auki / Sibelius Academy; Monaco: Acade`mie de musique Prince Ranier III; Leuk: Forum Wallis; Dimitria Festival Thessaloniki, Schau/Schall Fest Graz, Lubjana Music Festival, Lidko¨ping Music Festival, Oh Ton Festival Oldenburg, Theaterhaus (Stuttgart), Musica Nova (Reutlingen), La Fabrika (Prague), ecc... In 2009 he had a conference on his music at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
 
Moreover Francesco Maggio is a head chef of Italien musiziert in Stuttgart (Artistic Director). Maggio is living in Germany.
